Jason A. Smith
Jason Anthony Smith is the Director of Photography for Subtle Visions based in Detroit, MI. Born and raised in Detroit, his career has brought him around the global lensing commercial projects for clients Radio One, WDIV Channel 4, and Oakland Community College. He is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Media where he majored in cinematography.
Aside from working in narrative, Jason has a strong body of work in commercials, documentaries, and webisodes. Regardless of the type of project, his goal as Director of Photography is to create images that will not only tell the story, but that will affect the viewer on a subliminal level.
Jason is passionate about collaboration and eager to learn from every project and person. With a tremendous respect and admiration for the various crafts that make the art of Cinema, he continues to collaborate with young and seasoned filmmakers.
